I was hired to photograph this lovely serviced accommodation on Wester Coates Road, Edinburgh. The holiday let market in Scotland’s capital city is booming as Edinburgh is the second most visited city in the United Kingdom after London.
The living room was straight enough to photograph,as the light entering the property was mainly direct sunlight, and gave only some minor colour casts in the pictures easily taken care of in Photoshop.
The bedrooms were another thing altogether, as the light entering them was mostly bounced light from the grass and trees just outside. As light takes on the colour of objects it bounces off, I was left with some serious yellow/green colour casts that needed quite a bit of work to correct.
I was told by an interior designer one should really considers the colours of the surrounding environment and buildings when choosing a colour scheme for a property. It totally makes sense to me now.
Most of the times I get to photograph a holiday let property, the Scottish weather isn’t particularly cooperating but this time was completely different, as you can see from the exterior shots below.
