Cirque Noir Light Painting

My friend Jusztina Hermann of Delighter’s Theatre was organising a circus/cabaret night, called Cirqulation, with the theme “Cirque Noir”. She was looking for an image to advertise the show and since I’m always up for light painting, it was a match made in heaven.

Jusztina, her friend Zoja and I met at the Greyfriars cemetery for a shoot. It took us a couple of attempts as the weather absolutely didn’t cooperate the first time around.

We met a little before it was totally dark in order to scout the place and find a spot or two for light painting. Jusztina and I were quite happy with the final results.

I thought the tomb would provide a great foreground element to give the picture more depth.
