For my third blog post about my recent trip to Canada, let me introduce you to another beautiful regional park.
The Capilano river flows from north to south on Vancouver’s North Shore and is one of three primary sources of drinking water for the residents of the Vancouver metropolitan area.
Also within the confines of the park is the southern part of Capilano Lake.

The lake is separated from the Capilano river by the Cleveland Dam.

The Capilano river has a salmon run, that was obviously affected by the construction of the dam in the early to mid 1950’s. A fish ladder was built downstream of the Cleveland Dam to allow the salmon to bypass the dam.
The beautiful scenery makes the park attractive to film and television productions. And when I was visiting, it proved an ideal location for an outdoor wedding ceremony.
