Light Painting a Violinist at Blackford Pond

I was delighted when violin student Anna agreed on a light painting collaboration. She gave me free reign to chose a location, and I settled on Blackford Pond. I love this place, and I have done many shoots there, but I was yet to try light painting this scenery.

Right away, I loved that tree and the grasses in the pond. We did go around anyways, just to check for other possible spots, but ended up back at the initial location. I set up my camera and composition while we could still see well and waited for the pond to become dark enough for light painting.

I took quite a few frames and after reviewing them, decided it was all good and let Anna and her accompanying friend get on with the rest of the evening.

I asked Anna to lean on the tree as it would be easier for her to stand still while I light painted.
