I hadn\u2019t done a dance shoot in a while and I was delighted when Jorja Follina agreed to collaborate. The purpose of this personal project was to try out my new Phoenix Odin TTL flash triggers and to experiment with a new lighting scheme.<\/p>\n

We decided to shoot close to where I live, using a graffiti covered wall as a colourful backdrop. One light camera left and one camera right, both close to the wall. It was pitch dark when we shot so the scene is entirely lit by my two speedlights.<\/p>\n

I had known about this location for quite a while. Just love the colours.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I adjusted the height of each of the lights depending on the dance pose.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Finally, I went for the frame within a frame composition using the small enclosure within the wall.<\/p>\n

Initially, I wanted her to stand, but this pose turned out to work better.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The shoot was done in under an hour, as it was getting pretty cold.<\/p>\n
