During the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe Festival\u00a0I saw some interesting acts promoting themselves on the Royal Mile. I can\u2019t believe I didn\u2019t think of that sooner, but I decided to contact them and see if they\u2019d be up for a shoot, as I\u2019m always looking to add to my portfolio.<\/p>\n

One such act was \u201cHats Off to Laurel & Hardy\u201d by Lucky Dog Theatre Productions. Unfortunately, I saw them the last day of their Fringe appearance and when they replied to my email they were already back in Surrey. Not to be deterred, I told them I\u2019d get in touch the next year. And we did get to collaborate last summer.<\/p>\n

I love Mackenzie bridge in Stockbridge, and I thought it would provide a great background for a Laurel & Hardy shoot.\u00a0I picked them up after their show and we got on the bus to Stockbridge. Tony Carpenter, who plays Stan Laurel, looks quite a bit like him and has mastered all of Stan\u2019s mannerisms. It was quite eerie as I often felt in the presence of someone I idolised as a child.<\/p>\n

We had about an hour to shoot and they looked up some classic Laurel & Hardy poses from the internet. It was a big scene to light paint, so I only got three tries.<\/p>\n
