Annemarie McNamara is an award-winning pastry chef and she opened a delicatessen on Lothian Street, Edinburgh, in partnership with her husband.<\/p>\n

I was hired to provide marketing photographs for their new business.<\/p>\n

It may seem counterintuitive at first, but research shows that \u201c…how a room looks, sounds or feels can affect the way your meal tastes\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was therefore important to get some professional photographs of their space to show potential customers the nice, clean and relaxed environment in which they\u2019ll be enjoying their lunch or cake.<\/p>\n

Photographs of the food were just as, if not even more important, and I chose to side light the food in order to reveal all of its texture.<\/p>\n

I placed the light camera left to reveal all of the texture of this scrumptious slice of chocolate cake<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

One can not only see the mouthwatering texture of this slice of cake, but the lighting setup also showcases the whipped cream in an advantageous fashion<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

From the succulent cakes to the main sandwiches on the lunch menu.<\/p>\n

I ended with a close up shot of some delicious caramel cubes.<\/p>\n

I tried a number of setups for these caramel cubes, but in the end, the close up was the clear winner.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I can totally vouch for the quality of the pastries on sale as I got to taste the ones you can see above. Absolutely first class.<\/p>\n
