Food Photography: Max & Ben’s Bistro

If you advertise your breakfast/lunch/dinner menu online, you really need good photographs. I don’t think there is a bigger turn off than unappetising food.

In my previous blog post, I talked about a couple of serviced accommodations located next to and on top of Max & Ben’s Bistro in Auchterarder. If you are staying there to play a round of golf or two at the Gleneagles, you should seriously consider Max & Ben’s  for dinner.

I was asked to photograph their new menu over a three hour period. In this blog post I share my favourite photos.

Now you wouldn’t want to leave without sampling one the the desserts, would you?

All of the photos used a mix of ambient light and flash. I used a speedlight in a Westcott softbox to camera left to reveal the food texture and allow me to underexpose the ambient for a cosier atmosphere.
